A Fresh Face for Public Health in Missoula
Missoula Public Health is the trusted health agency serving Missoula County and surrounding communities. Known for its broad range of services—from disease prevention to maternal health to environmental safety—the organization is a vital community connector. In 2022, the agency was ready to embrace a new chapter after playing a highly visible and often emotionally difficult role during the pandemic, moving from its longtime name, Missoula City-County Health Department, to the more memorable and approachable Missoula Public Health.
With a new name and a renewed focus on accessibility and clarity, Missoula Public Health sought a brand identity that reflected its spirit of service—professional yet personable, cohesive across departments, and warmly received by the community. Gecko led the comprehensive rebrand, creating a modern, grounded logo and color palette that balanced credibility with approachability, supported by department-level variations and a full visual system. Collateral included signage, business cards, email signatures, stationery, and more, and in a high point for the project, the first round of logo concepts earned unanimous approval—delivering clarity, unity, and a fresh way forward.
