A Website Built for the Long Ride
Climate Ride is a national nonprofit that mobilizes people to protect the planet through life-changing biking, running, and hiking adventures. Their events raise awareness and funds for sustainability, renewable energy, and climate action causes. Since 2008, they’ve granted more than $11.6 million to 399 organizations across all 50 states.
After years of growth, Climate Ride’s website no longer matched the scale or energy of their mission, creating a need to better inspire participation, simplify registration, and enable in-house content management. Gecko partnered with Climate Ride to reimagine their digital home, modernizing the design, streamlining navigation, and building an intuitive, fully editable WordPress platform centered around a clear “Join a Ride” call to action. The new experience guides visitors seamlessly through trip discovery, registration, fundraising, and community engagement, with custom features like a dynamic Trip Finder, integrated RideWithGPS maps, and impact-driven storytelling that make the site as exhilarating as the events themselves.
